Nintendo Famicom Disk System Games ISOs

Read-only memory (ROM) is a type of storage channel which permanently stores data on personal computers (PCs) and other electronic devices.  It is permanent and non-volatile, which means it also holds its memory even when there is no power in the system. ROM is used for the BIOS which tells the computer how to start, or essential programs like the firmware of specific devices, which usually does not need to be modified.

ABOUT THE FDS

Famicom Disk System which is also known as FDS is a floppy disk unit peripheral for the Nintendo Family Computer game console, which was released on February 21, 1986, in Japan. The Famicom Disk System can run on six C-cell batteries or the supplied AC adapter, which is 9V DC, 400mA, with center negative polarity. The Famicom disk system device also serves to enhance some aspects that are already inherent to the base Famicom disk system, with better sound and cheaper game. In 1989, the Famicom disk system was inevitably obsolete by improving semiconductor technology of game cartridges. The Famicom disk system lifetime sales reached 4.4 million units by 1990. Famicom disk system final game was released in 1992, and Nintendo officially discontinued its technical support in 2003.

The Nintendo Famicom disk system device was connected to the Famicom deck by plugging a modified cartridge known as RAM Adapter into the system's cartridge port, which was attached via a supplied cable to the disk drive.  While the Nintendo Famicom Disk System was years ahead of its time in terms of a disk-format game console, the system and games both have reliability problems. The Nintendo Famicom disk device was announced, but not released, for the North American and PAL NES Consoles Through its production span, 1986–2003, 4.44 million units were sold.

Fds ROMs

The Fds ROMs chips required for cartridges were costly, and chip shortages created supply issues. The Fds ROMs also saves data. The unit sits beneath the central console, attached to the unit via a serial cable which is connected to an  Fds ROMs cartridge which sits in the Famicom's cartridge slot. The  Fds ROM cartridge contained 32K of memory, 8K of CHR RAM alongside with an IO chip which also feeds extra sound channels to the console through bespoke pins on the cartridge slot among other things.
